Formulating your own fragrance recipe at home has never been easier with our innovative ten drop test.

Step 1 Select your scents

Take the time to become familiar with your scents, then make your selections. Just as a chef combines flavors and textures to craft a dish, a perfumer blends notes to create a fragrance that evokes emotions and sensations. Both processes require creativity, and an understanding of how different ingredients interact to produce a pleasing, cohesive product.

Step 2 The ten drop test

Use the formulation cards and swabs provided to do a ten-drop test. This test involves blending a total of ten droplets to discover your unique custom perfume or cologne recipe. Gently apply the droplets to the center of the formulation card and combine them using a formulation swab. Be sure to take note of how many drops of each scent were used as you progress through this process.

Step 3 Determine your formulation

After discovering your formulation through the ten-drop test, the next step is to determine the milliliters of each scent that will go into your custom 20 ml spray bottle.

Step 4 Fill your bottle

Now it is time to fill your customized spray bottle. We recommend filling your bottle in 0.5 ml increments for a more accurate end result. Once you have filled your bottle, shake it until all the scents have thoroughly blended together. Finally, spray and enjoy the unique and custom fragrance that you have created.
